This is a list of common questions we receive at Rick Cain Design. If you have a question that is not covered here, please email rickcainsculptor@aol.com
Q: Does Rick Cain offer private lessons? A: Yes he does! Experience a personal one-on-one lesson and consultation with Rick, tailored to the topics which will best benefit your needs. He also offers personal consultations about your mental posture approaching your work, respecting the creative flow in your work, staying energized and helping you with your personal hurdles. Pricing is $30 per hour plus supplies. Please call (352) 466-0858 or write rickcainsculptor@aol.com to set up your lesson or for more information.
Q: When and where does Rick offer workshops? A: Rick offers workshops on creativity and various artistic techniques throughout the year at his studio in Micanopy, Florida. Please call (352) 466-0858 or write rickcainsculptor@aol.com for more information. Make sure to add your email address to our mailing list to be notified of all scheduled events.
Q: How can I get my Rick Cain sculpture repaired? A: We apologize for the inconvenience, but Rick Cain Design will no longer be offering repair service. The amount of repair requests coming in is overwhelming considering that Rick Cain is the person who must respond to all of these requests and does the repairs himself. The only exception that will be made is in the case that an insured sculpture shipped by Rick Cain Design was to get damaged during shipping, in which case the repair would be done. Q: Do I register my sculpture? A: Sculpture registration was a service we offered in the event that proof of ownership was needed for insurance reasons. Registration has since been discontinued and is no longer available; we apologize for any inconvenience.
Q: Is Rick Cain still reproducing his artwork? A: Rick Cain is no longer producing Limited Edition Sculptures. Rick is constantly creating brand new beautiful, original, one-of-a-kind works of art, with many different subject matters, mediums and price ranges. The Limited Edition Sculptures in the online store are pieces in Rick Cain's personal collection that he has chosen to offer for collectors to purchase.
Q: I own a Rick Cain sculpture and would like to know how much it is worth. What happened to the Secondary Market Price List? A: When Rick Cain Design was working with many different retail dealers who carried the Limited Edition Sculptures, one of the major contributors of the current going rate for sculptures on the Secondary Market WERE our dealers. Our dealers had sculptures that had sold out or were retired (basically sculptures that had become rare or unavailable), thus these sculptures would become more desirable and collectors would pay more to add them to their collection. The dealers would then report to us, letting us know the last price at which they sold these pieces. The Secondary Market Value for each sculpture is determined by the last known price that a sculpture has sold for. Because Rick Cain Design no longer sells wholesale to stores across the country, we also no longer have access to this information. It would not be appropriate or ethical for our company to just make up numbers. The best advice that we can provide is to look in places like Ebay, where people are selling sculptures on the Secondary Market. If you can find a Rick Cain dealer that does not mind sharing what they know, this is another option. We regret that we do not have access to appropriate information, but we can no longer assist with this service.
Q: How can I order Rick Cain’s art? A: Just click the “Purchase Art” button in the navigation bar at the top of this web page and you will be directed to our online store. Orders can also be placed over the phone by calling (352) 466-0858. When an order is placed with Rick Cain Design through our website or over the phone, Rick Cain Design will first check the availability of the requested artwork, and then get back to the collector as quickly as possible with availability.
Q: What types of payment does the online store accept? A: Rick Cain Design can accept the following payment types:
Q: What about refunds and exchanges? A: Rick Cain Design does not offer refunds on any purchases. A collector may negotiate an exchange on a work of art purchased from Rick Cain Design if: (a) The collector makes contact to make the exchange within four business days of receiving the artwork (b) The collector pays the shipping cost to return the work to be exchanged IN ITS ORIGINAL PACKAGING AND INSURED FOR THE FULL VALUE of the artwork, and pays the shipping for Rick Cain Design to send the artwork it is to be exchanged for.
Q: How is the art shipped once it’s purchased? A: Rick Cain Design ships all small works of art through USPS. Larger works of art that are over the size limit for USPS are shipped through The UPS Store. When shipped, all works of art are insured for their full retail value.
Q: What if an item is damaged during shipping? A: If a work of art arrives damaged or if something is missing from the package, the collector MUST KEEP THE PACKAGING in order to be able to file a claim for the damage or missing work of art. If a work of art is damaged in shipping, the collector MUST contact Rick Cain Design within two weeks of receiving the package to inform us of the damage. Rick Cain Design will then provide the collector with the appropriate information to begin the process of filing a claim for the damage, and instructions on what to do next. Rick Cain Design is not responsible for artwork that is damaged or lost during shipping, or for shipments arriving later than expected due to the fault of the shipping service used. Issues concerning lost, stolen, or late deliveries must be addressed with the shipping service.
